How Golden Sound-Light Crossing (GSLC) handles information when you visit gslc.sg or contact us.
Last updated: 17 October 2026
1. Who we are and what this policy covers
This policy explains how Golden Sound-Light Crossing (GSLC) handles personal data in connection with gslc.sg and enquiries about its services, with reference to Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA).
This policy covers website visits, enquiries by email, telephone or WhatsApp, and personal data used in separately arranged services. The website has no enquiry submission form, online booking or payment checkout. Browsing does not book a service or confirm a ceremony. Service-specific privacy notices may supplement this policy.
2. Information you provide
When you enquire, we receive the information you choose to share, such as your name, email address, telephone number, service of interest, dedication names, preferred dates and correspondence. Overseas enquirers may also provide their country and preferred contact method.
Family relationships, religious wishes and bereavement circumstances may be included where relevant. These can be particularly private or sensitive. Please provide only what is needed; an initial enquiry generally does not need identity documents or detailed medical or financial records.
If further information is needed for a particular service, the relevant purpose should be explained when it is requested.
3. Why information is used and consent
Relevant information is used to answer enquiries, discuss availability and family wishes, arrange and administer confirmed services, check dedication details, communicate changes, maintain necessary records and handle requests or complaints.
Under the PDPA, collection, use and disclosure must be for reasonable purposes, with notification and consent unless an applicable exception or other law permits or requires otherwise. Consent may be deemed in circumstances recognised by the PDPA, including appropriate voluntary provision for an understood purpose; it is not unlimited permission.
This policy and continued browsing do not by themselves authorise every use of personal data. A materially different purpose requires the appropriate notice and consent, or a valid legal exception. Consent cannot be required beyond what is reasonable to provide the relevant service.
4. Relatives, children and deceased persons
If you provide another living person’s information, explain the relevant purpose to them and obtain appropriate consent or authority where required. Being related does not automatically authorise every use. GSLC remains responsible for its own obligations and may need to clarify authority or contact the person.
Where consent is needed for a child below 13, it must be obtained from a parent or guardian. For older children, understanding and capacity matter; parental or guardian involvement may still be appropriate.
For people deceased for 10 years or less, the PDPA’s disclosure-related provisions and protection obligation continue to apply. The full living-person access and correction regime does not apply to deceased persons. After that period, other duties may remain, and information identifying living relatives remains subject to the applicable PDPA rules.
5. Website visits and browser storage
Page requests provide technical information such as IP addresses and browser details to hosting infrastructure. Hosting and security logs may also include request times and requested addresses. The website is configured to use Cloudflare hosting, and fonts are served locally.
The page address determines English or Simplified Chinese. Normal language navigation does not save a preference. An earlier version may have left a gslc-language local-storage entry, which current navigation ignores. Local storage is browser storage distinct from cookies; remove it using your browser’s site-data controls.
6. Google advertising technology
The website includes a Google Ads tag. When it runs, page-visit information is sent to Google and cookies or similar identifiers may be used for advertising measurement. Information may include the page address, IP address, device and browser details and identifiers.
Browser and Google advertising settings offer controls, but blocking cookies does not necessarily prevent all requests or data transmission. The information collected depends on the tag configuration and your settings. This notice does not itself obtain consent.
How Google uses information from sites that use its services
7. Sharing information and overseas transfers
Email, telephone and WhatsApp communications involve the relevant providers and their own privacy terms. Cloudflare and Google receive technical information as described above. Where another provider or person needs information to help administer a service, any sharing must be limited to the relevant purpose and permitted by consent or applicable law.
Disclosures must be limited to appropriate purposes, including where disclosure to authorities is required by law. Providers may handle information outside Singapore. Overseas transfers must meet applicable PDPA requirements, including comparable protection through appropriate safeguards or another permitted route.
8. Dedications, photographs and recordings
The website contains ceremony photographs. Please contact us if a photograph raises a privacy concern.
Supplying a dedication name or attending a ceremony is not, by itself, blanket permission for public display, photography, recording or livestreaming. Any such arrangements, including names on tablets or plaques, need appropriate notices and permissions where required.
9. Security, retention and incidents
GSLC must make reasonable security arrangements appropriate to the information’s nature and risks. No electronic transmission or storage is completely secure.
Personal data must cease to be retained, or be stripped of identifying links, when it is reasonable to assume the collection purpose is no longer served and retention is no longer necessary for legal or business purposes. Relevant criteria include ongoing arrangements, recordkeeping duties and unresolved matters; no fixed retention period is stated here.
Suspected breaches require assessment and appropriate containment. GSLC must notify the PDPC and affected individuals when the applicable legal thresholds and requirements are met.
10. Your requests and privacy concerns
Contact contact@gslc.sg or +65 8825 0148 to request access or correction, withdraw consent on reasonable notice, or raise a concern. Please identify the information or purpose concerned. Reasonable identity and representative-authority checks may be needed; avoid sending identity documents unless requested through an appropriate channel.
Access generally covers your personal data in GSLC’s possession or control and how it was used or disclosed during the preceding year, subject to legal exceptions and other people’s rights. Access must be provided as soon as reasonably possible and required corrections made as soon as practicable. If a valid request cannot be fulfilled within 30 days, GSLC must inform you in writing within that period when it will respond.
Withdrawal may affect arrangements needing the information; the likely consequences must be explained. Further consent-based handling must cease as required, including by relevant agents or intermediaries, unless law permits otherwise. Withdrawal does not automatically require deletion of every record. You may also raise unresolved concerns with the PDPC.
11. External links and policy updates
External sites and services have their own practices. Future forms, subscriptions, embedded media or other integrations may require updated notices before introduction. Material changes to purposes may also require fresh consent.
This policy may be updated, with the latest revision date shown on this page. Changes do not retrospectively create consent. Please use the contact details below for privacy enquiries.
